The weeks may come and go, but throughout the year the weekly shopping list reflects a balance between the basics we keep the crisper stocked with, and in-season fruits and veggies that taste so good they make us glad to be alive.
But week in and week out we buy the same veggie staples, and here they are, our list of weekly must-haves:
They are not as perishable, but we also keep those onions and sweet potatoes in constant supply.
These are the basics we keep on hand regardless of the variety of our weekly meals. At the very least they're eaten raw: The whole family gets crisp, crunchy veggies every day, and they never think to complain. We simply vary the dips while the veggies remain constant.
And as for what fruits are on our constantly purchased list? Apples, oranges, and berries. Boom!
We augment these basics with in-season beauties, and in the winter months, preserved produce, and we get the best of everything all year long.
