Portion Perfect favorite green smoothie with kale, ginger and lemon

A local juice chain makes these addictive, non-dairy, yummy smoothies that we love—with kale, ginger, mango, peaches, and lemon.

What they don't tell you is: They add sugar!

But you don't have to. In fact, you can make that smoothie a Portion Perfect one, by adding some protein powder—here, one with all-veggie protein.

Here's the recipe for our favorite green smoothie, perfected with a portion of protein!

Ingredients

  • Kale leaves, washed and chopped
  • Protein powder*
  • Frozen peaches and mangoes
  • Chopped ginger root
  • Lemon and lime juice
  • Ice chips, to taste

How to

Simply blend up all ingredients and enjoy!

*Tip: Most of us get the protein we need from whole food sources. But there are times, like in our yummy post-workout smoothies, when you want protein in a powder form. But not all protein powders are created equal—most are manufactured from whey, casein or soy, and not all of us want to have dairy or soy-based proteins.
